Royal St. George’s.
Royal St. George’s Golf Club occupies a unique place in the history of golf, for it was here in 1894, that the Open Championship was first played outside Scotland. In all there have been 14 Open Championships played at St George’s, more than any course outside of Scotland.
The golf course provides a severe test for even the greatest of golfers and the fact that only three Open winners – Bill Rogers in 1981, Greg Norman in 1993 and Ben Curtis in 2003 – have managed to be under par after 72 holes, tells its own story.
Royal Cinque Ports.
This proper, workmanlike links – built over a fairly narrow tract of land – asks a lot of very tough questions.
The Club has been the scene of many Championships, including two Open Championships in 1909 and 1920. The Club hosted the Amateur Championship in 2013 and was one of four Final Open Qualifying venues from 2014-2017.
Since 1924, Royal Cinque Ports has been home every year to the Halford Hewitt Public Schools Championship which is the largest amateur tournament in the world.
Prince’s. (Dunes & Himalayas)
Prince’s offers all that is best in modern golf: with its 27 holes of Championship links golf, practice facilities to match and a centrally located clubhouse Since its opening in 2012, Prince’s can now offer visiting golfers overnight accommodation in its 38 bedroom facility – The Lodge. Prince’s boasts 3 loops of 9 holes: The Shore, The Dunes and the Himalayas, all of which have their own unique characteristics and signature holes and have benefited from significant investment and redevelopment over recent years.
